How to pick which audio book to buy

LOOK, I GET IT, this seems REALLY boring BUT please if your not going to read the whole thing JUST LISTEN TO THE SAMPLE and you'll find out why if you actually decide to read this. so, welcome back to this blog and if u read my shit often u'll know that I'm very much into free audiobooks. HOWEVER, when you start getting to the more niche books, that's when u need audible. At some point I will do a guide to how audible works and what app works best but for now it's just going to be, what you need to think about for whatever audiobook so you don't waste £8. There are two situations where these don't really apply and thats: 1. If you have already listened to the free version and now want to be able to listen to it offline 2. If you have started listening to an audiobook series and really want to finish it but a certain audiobook is'nt available freely so you need to buy it. Otherwise, PLEASE READ THIS. So obviously you have seen a book recommended somewher...

Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover (best quotes)

“Summers are for focusing on today and today only” “I'm overdosing on good things which only means I'll eventually have to go through the withdrawal” “I’m drowning, Samson. And you’re the one holding me underwater.” “Samson makes me wonder if there’s a difference between a liar and a person who tells lies to protect someone from the truth.” “I know what love is, because I spent my whole life knowing what it isn’t.” “Secrets are my only form of currency.” “There are two different kinds of wrong. The wrong that stems from weakness and the wrong that stems from strength. You made that choice because you were strong and needed to survive. You didn’t make that choice because you were weak.” “Not depressing. We’re deep. There’s a difference.” “Wet eyes and a dry heart.” “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” “Look at us. Two lonely kids who slipped through all the cracks, but then climbed right back up to the top of the world.” “I kind of like that Samson...

✨69✨ BOOKS🥳

Image
Yassssssssssss queen... To celebrate I am reading so many romance books which in truth isn't much of a challenge but still... So what am I reading to celebrate this you ask? I'm doing a Colleen Hoover book run!!!!!! This really kills two birds with one stone because she is also on this autumns tbr list and I'm looking forward to it. I'm going to be doing another blog post soon enough where you can join me in reading Colleen Hoover AND I will post all of reading list goals... Wow that's a really random post....

Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover (review)

My first thought, Sarah is doing wonders for my ED. If you've read it and can remember her you'd know that I'm being sarcastic. THANKFULLY, that stopped pretty quick and I didn't have to endure a book about dieting. Other than that, the plot; ⭐⭐⭐. It was just pretty unbelievable that  Beyah never again mentioned her mother, that her dad just bought her a plane ticket in the middle of the night, that his new wife and step-daughter are perfectly happy to have her, that he was never notified by the police, that no one talked about how she destroyed that camera, that she'd never shared any secrets until this one guy came into the picture, that she miraculously decided to go to law school and waited FOUR goddamn years for this one boy. Actually never mind ⭐⭐. Everything else, 4-5 stars. I liked the main characters but I mean, it really did just paint rich people as people with no personality or life experience whatsoever however the moral 🙏.  The overall summar...

Call Me By Your Name by André Aciman (TBR)

The last time I tried to start reading this, was when I was in a audiobook slump. This happens a lot and I will binge like 15 minutes of five different audiobooks until I find one that I like. Call Me By Your name was on those titles and it wasn't the vibe I was expecting. I was thinking summer school drama good boy bad boy romance, maybe early 2000's. I was deadly mistaken. One day when going onto my mum's Netflix account (without her knowing) I saw the title. I was like cool I'll just watch the movie since I wasn't really that into it. Then, I WATCHED THE TRAILER.  I'll be back with the book review, lol

The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer (review)

*TW - stalking, sexual assault, emotional manipulation and other questionable behavior... The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer BTW, more in-depth reviews of the individual books are coming (when I can be arsed to re-read them) I feel like everyone has seen a twilight review and we all know that it's misogynistic but I'm just going to point out the most creepy stalkery bits that people don't focus on. 1.  In breaking dawn p1 Bella has sex with Edward and gets extremely bruised but is like "no it's fine!" Then when she gets pregnant even though she could die, she's like i'm keeping the baby. Not exactly the best thing to influence women and their sex lives. 2.  In the 3rd book, Jacob basically says to Bella that if she doesn't kiss him he'll kill himself? He also forces Bella to kiss him before that in another book. 3.  The way that Bella is constantly doubting herself and thinking she's not good enough for Edward. A living corpse. Who loves...

All Eyes on Us by Kit Frick (review)

Trigger warning *conversion therapy* Summary The story focuses on two main female characters. They both have the same boyfriend except one of them is lesbian and the other one actually likes him. The dick's name is Carta and he's like a classic psychopath; rich, football star, incredibly kind to everyone. Just screams a nut job. Anyways, the two girls end up being stalked by a private number and at first it may seem like this private number is out to get Rosalie and Amanda, but fuck no! They be out to get Carta. A couple messages, threats and injuries later, the two girls come face to face with who they think private is. Turns out, it's not Ben and David, it's mother fucking... Review OMG! OMG! OMG! 🚨 🚨 🚨 Spoiler alert 🚨 🚨 🚨 ... IT'S CARTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited! Do you know how difficult it has become for books to shock me?????????? Usually I'm like, yh ik that's the killer. BUT DAMN. I was not expecting that. Okay...

Love, Lucas by Chantele Sedgwick (review)

*suicidal thoughts/ attempts trigger warnings* Summary Basically, Oakley lost her brother due to cancer and doesn't know how to cope. She's meant to be going of to college but she doesn't care about that anymore. Whilst her brother was alive she spent every second with him, as in, not at school, and now he's gone, she just wants to rest. One day her mum and dad start arguing so her mum decides to move "temporarily" to her aunts house. Guess what, she doesn't leave. Her mum and father get divorced, blah, blah, blah. Oakley meets a guy blah, blah blah. She learns to surf although the author never clarifies whether it's a suicide attempt blah, blah, blah. Her brother leaves her a note book blah, blah, blah. SURPRISE! They all live happily ever after 🥳🥳🥳 blah, blah, blah Review Characters: ⭐⭐⭐ The author could have done the "I'm so sad my brother just died of cancer but I moved and never thought about him again. I'm so happy now" tro...

Everything I liked about Fallen by Lauren Kate (SPOILERS)

Image
The (few) best things about Fallen I was really looking forward to reading this book and it was so disappointing. I had the whole series ready to go and prepared myself for a week long binge BUT NO 😤. I am going to list all the things I like about this book (literally just the characters)  - . I really like Penn. She's sooo nice and I was devastated when she died and wanted to cry soo hard. I didn't though. For some reason I barely ever cry. . ✨Arriane✨. I FUCKING LOVE THAT GIRL. Definitely my type. . Todd is like the male version of me. I love studying and again, I wanted to cry when he died. . I would literally date Molly just for her fashion sense. . Mrs Shelby. I'm so that person who loves a psychopathic female character. If you like her I would recommend binging My Hero Academia Toga Himiko clips on YouTube. Lol. Yh, those are the only good things about this book, but if you truly wish to listen  click here .

Everything problematic about Fallen by Lauren Kate (SPOILERS)

Image
(only based on book one)  RANT WARNING (and if you hate feminism get out of here)... . Lucinda has no personality. If you asked me how to describe her personality i'd be like 🤔... idk . It's literally a twilight ripoff . When Cam and Lucinda do kiss 🤮 Daniel gets all pissy. If they were dating, fair. If Lucinda knew how much he liked her and just used him, fair. But NONE of that happened. He was so hot and cold, they kissed, nothing more.   . Daniel is horrible to her but apparently it's a turn on now??? When Penn pointed that out to her I was like 🙏🙏🙏 but then, of course, Lucinda denies it. . The only difference between this and twilight is that Lucinda stalks Daniel instead of Daniel stalking Bella. Oh wait it's Lucinda. THAT'S HOW SIMILAR THEY ARE. . The author makes Lucinda hate and despise the other girls because she's jealous. Whatever happened to ✨sisters before misters✨? . Cam basically forces her to kiss him and she's like "I didn't ...

Love, Lucas by Chantele Sedgwick (spoiler-free review)

*suicidal thoughts Summary After losing her brother to cancer, Oakley finds herself moving to her aunts house temporarily until she is ready to face her old life. She has never really spent much time with her aunt until now but she is grateful to get away. The new house she is staying in is right near a beach; the perfect costal town. Oakley loves photography and, once she's ready to leave the house, it's her only outlet. Two days into her stay and her mother hands her a notebook. Lucas's Diary. She is so thankful to have it but how is she meant to keep on living when he cant? It's not fair. But once she starts greeting the locals, things get easier. She makes friends, starts to talk to her mum more, but she still refuses to live like Lucas can't. Eventually she has to make a choice; die, survive or live. (I'm not even gonna lie, that's a pretty amazing summary) Review Stars:⭐ ⭐ ⭐ What would make it better?  I personally feel like it could have been longer. ...

Fallen (1) by Lauren Kate (spoiler-free review)

Defiantly one ⭐... As you should all know by now, I strongly dislike this book so understandably, I can't be arsed to write a full review. I think my other two blog posts give you enough of an idea but for a spoiler free idea  click here .

Good Girls Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson (review)

TRIGGER WARNING - so, in this book there is mention of sexual assault. From memory it's never described in any way it's just something that Pip finds out about another character's past (cant remember who) but it ends up being quite essential in the story and it continues into book 2. I haven't read book 3 so I don't know if it's mentioned again. EDIT. *TW  - suicide, drug abuse, kidnapping, rape, and mentioned briefly self-harm.  Lesser trigger warnings  include mentioned disordered eating, p sychological abuse, murder and underage drinking. I have listened to the entire book before but that was a while ago so I decided to re-read it and then read the sequel... yh no. Lets start with what I liked because it's shorter and better for formatting: 1.  SOME  of the characters (aka everyone minus  PIP ) were in-depth and it was fun to get to know their evil secrets  💀 2. You really do not expect the ending or who the killer is (IT'S HER SISTER GUYS! We...

I haven't read book 3 so I don't know if it's mentioned again. So, I fist read this in,🤔 oh, in May. At the time I was like meh. It's okay. I only really read it cause of the hype and my friend wanted me to read it but I wanted to give up a few times. I didn't, it just took me about three days to get through it because I couldn't be arsed to listen to it. A couple weeks later, me and my friend got in touch and they lent my their sequel to book number two. I went home with it and started reading it but was tf is going on. It had been a while since I read it so I was like imma re-read the first book. I finally got round it to it and I failed miserably. I just couldn...

Dark Notes by Pam Godwin (Read With Me)

This is basically just an ongoing commentary of what I think about the book. Lets go: 18:06- Okay, sexual assault five minuets into this bad boy 18: 20- the brother got some issues 19: 50- you gonna make her starve and still give her big tits? 19: 51- what the fuck is happening 19:58- DAMN. One minuet later: Yh, I'm bored.

Fallen Series by Lauren Kate Audiobook Links

Image
So, even though I hate this series, I did fully intend on binging the entire thing in like three days so I prepared every single link. If somehow you like the first book then knock yourself out! Fallen (1) audiobook link there’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori. Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move. Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce—and goes out of his way to make that very clear—she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret… even if it kills her. Torment (2) audiobook link Hell on earth. That’s what it’s like for Luce to be apart from her fallen angel boyfriend, Daniel. It took them an eternity to find on...

AUTUMN 2022 TBR AUTHORS

Image
Autumn 2022 Authors Okay so this is a bit late but fuck it, we're doin' it anyway. Around this time a lot of people who talk about books (w ha t nerds 😅 ) ta lk about wha t they want to read. Yeah no, that's not how I work. Life needs flexibility bitches (but I need blog posts cause I'm bored). For some random reason that is definitely   not written in any bracket, I decided to choose some of the authors I want to listen to more of. Edit: Looking back at this I really need some diversity. All of these authors are female, white and blond... Next time we are gonna get some variety in here. Jennifer Niven Out of all the famous authors she's definitely the most underrated since she literally ownly ever gets credited with "All the Bright Places". To me this is insane. I haven't even read the majority of her books and I already know that it's bullshit. "Holding Up the Universe" was enough to prove that to me so I'm hoping to read more of...
